Bean Market’s November subscription featured Small Batch Roasting Co. Small Batch Roasting Co’s featured coffee was directly sourced from the Santa Barbara region of Honduras by owner Andrew Kelly.
Our next shipment, shipping November 26th is Small Batch Roasting Co’s ‘The Santa Barbara Project.’
To celebrate the delicious efforts of 8 producers from the Santa Barbara region, Honduras; Small Batch Roasting Co has adopted the ‘The Santa Barbara Project’ handle overcoming the small quantities of many of the lots.
Producers from the Santa Barbara region of Honduras, have featured heavily in the country’s Cup of Excellence, and of those 60% are from Beneficio San Vincente. But more importantly, BSV has been instrumental in the support and nurture of Santa Barbara producers surrounding their mill in Pena Blanca, providing assistance and support. Part of this may be economic support, such as money to buy or maintain a farm, or plant coffee.
Why is this important? Because there is no access to finance otherwise. The ability to reinvest money back into their farm (while supporting families), is crucial to improving the quality of coffee and quality of life.
